Dr. Rafiq is currently an assistant professor in the College of Computing at GVSU. Before joining GVSU, Rahat worked at ThoughtSpot, a startup based in Palo Alto, California, for 14 months. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he was one of the co-founding members of CUCyberSafety Lab.

Muttaki is a developer specializing in full-stack and applied machine learning. Building on his expertise in computer vision and reinforcement learning from human feedback, he developed and deployed our robust Oak wilt and HWA detection models. His projects have secured funding from PRTS, Michigan DNR, the City of Grand Haven, and MTRAC.

Collin earned his Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity in 2024 and has since focused on building software at the intersection of machine learning and real-world systems. He's deeply passionate about cognitive science and how it can be applied to improve user experiences. In his free time, he loves to stay active and be involved in the community, such as coaching HS lacrosse.

Ahsan is a software engineer specializing in deployment and backend development. He focuses on designing and delivering scalable, secure cloud-based systems with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and real-world impact. Prior to beginning his graduate studies, he built the bKash payment gateway, which serves millions of users regularly.

Ryan earned his BA in Marketing from Michigan State University in 2026 and is completing his MS in Marketing Research and Analytics. He is interested in consumer insights and data-driven business strategy, with a curiosity about how and why people make decisions. Ryan is deeply passionate about marketing research methods, brand storytelling, and growing Edge Forestry's reach.

Jacob is currently working on his Bachelors in Wildlife Biology and Minor in Natural Resource Management at Grand Valley State University with an expected Graduation at the end of 2026. Jacob also is certified in Applied GIS in Natural Resources and uses his skills in and outside of class to understand and manage the natural world.

Ishra is a machine learning engineer specializing in computer vision and intelligent systems. She is developing Edge Forestry's acorn detection model as part of the MTRAC AI internship, while also pursuing her M.S. in Applied Computer Science at Grand Valley State University.
